Logos, mascots chosen for new public schools

The two English-language public school boards opening in Windsor-Essex in September have named their mascots.

Two mascots will identify with the new K-12 school in Kingsville, and the third with the new K-8 school in Tecumseh.

Erie Migration District School, the new Kingsville school, will be known as the Coyotes, with different variations for elementary and secondary students.

The elementary version features a coyote's paw.

Erie Migration District School will bring together students from Kingsville Public School, Jack Miner Public School, and Kingsville District High School, which all closed at the conclusion of the 2023-24 school year.

The Town of Kingsville has requested public input for future use of the three buildings.

Beacon Heights Public School teams will be known as the Bears.
