Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the Town of Essex have arrested one person in a stolen property investigation.
On the afternoon of May 29, officers from the Essex Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a vehicle in Kingsville.
An unspecified quantity of stolen property was confiscated, including a handheld barcode scanner from a retail outlet.
Several power tools were also recovered, and police hope to find the rightful owners.
A 46-year-old Leamington man is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.
The charge has not been proven in court. The suspect will be able to respond to the count in a Windsor court on July 30.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have been the victim of a break-and-enter between May 26 and May 28, should contact OPP Detective Constable Jamie Darling at (519) 723-2491, during regular business hours.
Callers must provide proof of ownership before any property is returned.
