Another local municipal councillor is considering a move to federal politics.
Tecumseh Ward 2 Councilor James Dorner announced he is seeking the Conservative nomination in Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore.
Dorner was first elected as a Tecumseh councillor in 2022. Before becoming a councillor he was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. He served as a Combat Engineer for 8 years, deploying to Afghanistan in 2009.
He said he is seeking the Conservative seat to address concerns of Liberal leadership, the impacts of inflation and the national housing crisis.
"The Canada I fought for during my military service was one of equality, equity, and opportunity," said Dorner. "We need to return to those core values to ensure a prosperous future for all living within Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore and Canada."
Windsor Ward 4 Councilor Mark McKenzie and Kathy Borrelli, he candidate for the CPC in the last federal election, are also seeking the nomination.
