St. Clair College has addressed video footage of a security officer refusing to allow a person wearing a keffiyeh to enter a campus building.

John Fairley, Vice President of the college's Communications and Community Relations, said the school immediately brought up its concerns about the incident with the security company.
"It was a very unfortunate situation that happened after hours at our St. Clair College Centre for the Arts," Fairley said. "It does not represent the values or policies of St. Clair College. Once we learned about the incident, we immediately addressed our concerns to Paladin Security, who immediately addressed the situation with the employee and resolved the issue. Paladin Security did communicate and apologize to the individual in the video."
The comments were posted on the college's social media pages.
The keffiyeh is a traditional headdress worn in parts of the Middle East and has come to be known as a symbol of solidarity with Palestinians.
The incident occurred less than two weeks after encampments began popping up on local post-secondary campuses, including at the University of Windsor.
