Run for Windsor supports future acute care hospital

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association are keeping their fingers crossed for good weather and a strong turnout for this year's Run for Windsor.

The event is on Saturday, May 18, at Malden Park.

Hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, the goal is to raise more than $500,000.

The group has been in Canada for over 50 years and takes pride in giving back to the community.

"This initiative to help make the region's vision for a new Windsor-Essex Hospital System a reality is a clear demonstration of this," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

Windsor Regional Hospital President and CEO David Musyj thanked the organization for its support.

"Choosing to support the future Windsor Regional Hospital Urgent Care Centre through the Run for Windsor event is a great testimonial to the future of the Windsor Essex Hospitals System," he said.

The event starts at 9 a.m. with registrations and pre-race warm-up.
