UPDATE: Suspect wanted in connection to seven break-ins arrested

57-year-old Michael Scott Blythe has been arrested.

On Saturday, Windsor police issued a warrant in connection to a string of commercial break-and-enters. Police said that between July 20, 2023, and February 27, 2024, seven break-ins occurred at businesses on Tecumseh Road East.

According to police, each incident saw a male suspect break into the property through a rear door or window and steal the cash register and other items.

The Windsor Police Target Base Unit identified Blythe as the suspect. He was located by police in the 1600 block of Drouillard Road late Saturday.

Blythe has been charged with possession of break-in instruments, break-and-enter to commit theft over $5,000, and six counts of break-and-enter to commit theft under $5,000.
