The English-language public school board serving Windsor-Essex is about to ask for the community's help with budget priorities.
The Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB) has begun putting together its 2024-25 spending plan.
The board has its work cut out for it, facing an $8.9-million budget deficit.
Delegations will be accepted on two occasions. The first will be during the public trustees' meeting on Tuesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. The second will be during the Operations and Finance meeting on Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the GECDSB headquarters on Park Street West in Windsor.
"Approved delegations will be limited to 10 minutes on the agenda and must provide a written summary of their remarks no later than the time of the meeting," read a release from the board. "There will also be opportunities to sign up on the speaker’s list by 6:45 p.m. on the day of the meeting. This will allow for a five-minute presentation."
If you'd like to appear as a delegation for either meeting, contact Melissa LeBoeuf at (519) 255-3200, ext. 10259, by noon on the Monday before the meeting.
