599 students still suspended over vaccination records

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit says 271 elementary school students suspended last week because their immunization records weren't up to date are allowed back to class.

Another 599 students are still suspended for up to 20 days because their records are incomplete.

Parents who need to update their child's vaccinations can go to the health unit's offices in Windsor or Leamington to get those shots. They're encouraged to book a visit online.

If your child's vaccinations are up to date but not their records, call your primary care provider or the health unit at 519-258-2146 ext. 1222.

Last fall, health officials reviewed the records of more than 45,000 elementary school students.
