On the downside, 860 students are suspended from school because their records are incomplete.
Last fall, officials at the Windsor Essex County Health Unit reviewed the records of 45,371 students.
Since then, it's sent letters to the parents and guardians of those with incomplete records warning their child may face suspension of up to 20 days from school. Once their vaccinations are updated, schools can welcome them back.
Public health units are required to review those records under the Immunization for School Pupils Act.
The health unit in Windsor-Essex has services available for families that need immunizations. Their offices in Windsor and Leamington are open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
