Border agents were busy last week dealing with separate incidents involving weapons.
According to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), both were at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.
The first incident took place on Friday, February 16, when someone travelling to Canada brought a handgun and ammunition. The traveller was fined $1,000.
The second was on Saturday, February 17, when a handgun and an assault rifle were confiscated. Ammunition, brass knuckles, and blade rings were also seized.
Border agents laid a fine of $5,160 for the second incident.
"If you do not declare the firearm or are untruthful, the CBSA may seize it, and you may face criminal charges and-or monetary penalties," read the CBSA's webpage on importing weapons to Canada.
