Residents are invited to Unifor Local 195 skilled trades apprenticeship day on Thursday.
The goal of the day is to introduce people to different trades and the careers available.
There will be 13 representatives from various trades including millwrights, carpenters, ironworkers, painters, chefs, and early childhood educators. Each will give a presentation and be available for questions.
Representatives from Unifor, LiUNA, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skill Development, Workforce Windsor, St. Clair College, and the Unemployed Help Centre will also be on hand.
"They all will be here to encourage the people who are participating and show interest on how to go about it, and where is the open position and how we can guide those people for the trade and apprenticeship program," said Unifor Local 195 President Emile Nabbout.
There will be two sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Both sessions are open to the public.
