The campaign to fund the purchase of an MRI machine at Erie Shores Healthcare has reached the halfway point.
After the hospital hosted a groundbreaking ceremony last week, the Knights of Columbus in Kingsville made a $50,000 donation to the campaign.
The donation was made in memory of a council member Rob Repko.
“Rob trusted that we would donate the money that he left to us to the right cause. After hanging on to it for some time, we decided that bringing MRI to Erie Shores HealthCare was the worthy opportunity for us to donate the funds as it will take care of his family, our families, and the families of so many others,” said Larry Everaert.
Last week, Unico and Primo Foods made a $ 1 million donation to the cause.
The MRI machine and construction of the suite is budgeted at $5 million.
The permanent suite should be completed by the fall of this year but a temporary MRI machine should come online in the spring.
