Windsor trucker charged with stunt driving in LaSalle

It's not every day a truck driver faces stunt driving charges, but LaSalle Police say one from Windsor faces one now after an officer clocked a transport truck going 94 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the River Canard area on Tuesday afternoon when he stopped the truck on Malden Road.

A 37-year-old Windsor man faces charges. Police suspended his license for 30 days.

Stunt driving is when a vehicle is travelling at 40 km/h or more on a road where the speed limit is less than 80 km/h or 50 km/h over the limit on faster highways.

The company picked up the trailer, and the tractor portion of the truck will sit in an impound yard for the next two weeks.
