Teen faces charges after self-inflicted gunshot

A 17-year-old is facing charges after an apparent self-inflicted gun shot to the leg.

The Windsor police were called to Windsor Regional Hospital's Met Campus after they got a call about an underage boy with a gunshot wound.

The teen claimed they had been shot by a person in a passing vehicle.

After an investigation, police believe the shot was self-inflicted.

The 17-year-old is facing public mischief and firearm-related charges. His name can't be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

A second person is also facing public mischief charges.
