More people were buying and putting their homes up for sale in January.
Real estate market activity was up 4.11 per cent in January.
The Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors monthly statistics report showed there were 633 new listings in January 2024. The month of January 2023 saw 608 new listings.
There were also more properties sold at the beginning of the year compared to the beginning of 2023. There were 276 properties sold last month, compared to 262 in January 2023, an increase of 5.34 per cent.
The increase is the first time since last August home sales climbed in the region.
The average price of a property sold in January was $534,655. That's up from $517,187, the average price of a property in January 2023.
