A transport truck driver has been charged after Windsor police responded to a call about a truck driven onto a pedestrian trail.
Officers arrived at the corner of Fazio Drive and Lambton Street on the south end at around 9 p.m. Wednesday. They noticed that the tractor-trailer had been driven onto a pedestrian trail adjacent to the Herb Gray Parkway.
The truck damaged a light pole, hit a stop sign, and then came to rest at a pedestrian overpass.
The vehicle was damaged, but police said no one was hurt.
The driver was cited for careless driving. They also face charges of failing to maintain a truckers' log and failing to ensure a daily inspection.
