OLG deposits $2.1M cheque to Windsor

The City of Windsor has continued to benefit financially from hosting Caesars Windsor.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has cut the City a cheque of $2,146,955, for the third quarter of 2023. The third quarter covers September 1 to December 31, 2023.

So far, the City has received over $7.8-million during the fiscal year, which began in April 2023.

"OLG continues to provide Municipality Contribution Agreement payments to gaming host communities for vital programs and services that benefit all Ontarians," said Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy. "Land-based casinos offer good, local jobs and play an important role in supporting strong, vibrant communities for families to live, work and play."

Windsor has received a quarterly payment from the OLG since the temporary casino opened in May 1994. To date, the amount is $90.3-million.
