A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a sexual assault of a minor.
The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit started the investigation in December. They learned a 15-year-old connected with a man on a social media platform. The adult man entered into a sexual relationship with the 15-year-old for just over a month.
On December 27, a suspect was arrested at a home on Eastcourt Drive. He was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, administering a noxious substance with the intent to endanger life, and making sexual explicit material available to a person under 16 years old.
The suspect was released on bail the next day with conditions to not contact the victim.
After being released on bail, officers found the victim at the suspect's home.
He was arrested and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, assault with a weapon, telecommunications with a person under 16 years of age for a criminal offence, printing, publishing or possessing child pornography, mischief, and breach of release conditions.
The charges have not been proven in court.
