Public input sought on ancillary services at new acute care hospital

Windsor Regional Hospital has asked the public what amenities they'd like to see in the region's new acute care hospital.

The hospital is working with the J.C. Williams Group for an ancillary service strategy for the new hospital and has asked staff, volunteers, and the community for their ideas.

Ancillary services include food and drink, gift shops, pharmacies, and personal services designed to enhance the experience for patients and visitors.

The online survey is available on WRH's official Together We Build webpage and is open until January 12, 2024.

Information collected will be used to shape ancillary service at the new hospital. It will supplement public feedback given last year when a 24/7 need for affordable food and beverage service was identified as the top priority.

Plans for the new hospital have been submitted to the Ontario Ministry of Health. The tendering process of selecting a company to craft a final design will take place by 2025, with actual construction set to begin in 2026.
