Windsor Fire and Rescue Services (WFRS) battled two blazes within four hours Friday night.
Just before 7:30 p.m., firefighters went to work against a fire in the 800 block of Brant Street.
Within half an hour officials reported that the fire was under control and that ventilation of the building had begun. By 8:10 p.m., crews had completed an overhaul of the building and found that the fire hadn't spread from its point of origin.
No injuries were reported but two people have been displaced. Damage is estimated to be around $600,000.
The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious and is now under investigation by Windsor Police. Anyone with information is asked to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
Just after 11:00 p.m., multiple WFRS vehicles responded to a fire in the 3200 block of Russell Street. The blaze was reported on the first floor of a two-storey building.
The fire was considered under control by 11:20 p.m.
Fire officials said that all occupants were out of the structure and no injuries were reported. Ten residents of the building have been displaced following the fire.
Investigators said that the fire originated in a main floor bedroom, though the cause is undetermined. Damages are estimated at $250,000.
