Animal lovers in a west Windsor area have an opportunity to spay or neuter their feline friends.
The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society has offered Sandwich residents a chance to spay or neuter a community cat for free. The program is for a limited time only and by application.
The program was made possible by funding from Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefits Plan.
Community cats are defined as cats who live primarily outdoors and are fed and cared for by one or more people.
Residents who live in an area bounded by the Detroit River, Huron Church Road, Ojibway Parkway, and EC Row may bring a community cat to the humane society at no cost to them. All of the cats who are spayed or neutered under this program will be ear-tipped, vaccinated, and microchipped.
