The Ontario Provincial Police blame three single-vehicle collisions in Essex County over the past week on impaired driving.
The first was just before 6:30 p.m. last Wednesday near Papineau Court and Lesperance Road in Tecumseh.
A pickup truck slammed into a parked vehicle before driving off. Police located the pickup and its driver a short distance away and said the man behind the wheel appeared drunk.
A 30-year-old Lakeshore man faces four charges, including operation of a motor vehicle while impaired and failure to stop after an accident.
A 46-year-old Leamington man faces charges after a vehicle hit a hydro pole on Mersea Road 5 the following night.
Then, early Friday morning, officers were called to County Road 22 in Lakeshore after a vehicle crashed into a ditch.
Once again, the driver appeared drunk, so they arrested a 48-year-old Windsor man.
On Friday night, police responded to a traffic complaint on Seacliff Drive East in Leamington. After testing the driver, they arrested a 47-year-old Leamington woman.
All four drivers have their licenses suspended for the next 90 days while their vehicles sit in an impound lot for a week.
