Those who visit Amherstburg's waterfront now have a novel way to commemorate the occasion by taking a photo with the new "Hole in the Wall" photo frame.
The WindsorEssex Community Foundation unveiled the project on Thursday morning, one of many local projects the foundation embarked on this year as part of its 40th anniversary.
"This year, we are investing in -- projects that will invest in lasting change, reflect who we are as the people of Windsor and Essex County, value our sense of place and culture, and honour both our local history and our future," said Executive Director Lisa Kolody.
The photo frame is on County Road 20 just before you enter Amherstburg and frames the Detroit River.
"The frame provides an opportunity for visitors to capture their experiences and the landmark scenery offered by Amherstburg's beautiful waterfront," said a release from the WECF.
Amico and A-LINX oversaw the design and construction, and donated the required labour and resources.
"Together, we're creating a lasting legacy with this "Hole in the Wall" photo op, celebrating our history and those who come to experience it," said Amherstburg Mayor Michael Prue.
