Firefighters arrived at the home on University Avenue West near Cameron Avenue just after 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, but it was already fully engulfed.
Police shut down University Avenue between Cameron Avenue and McKay Avenue, although it has since reopened.
Nobody was hurt.
Lambton OPP are on the lookout for a break and enter suspect.
