Public invited to safety and crime prevention walk

The City of Windsor and Windsor Police are hosting their first safety and crime prevention walk on Thursday night, and the public is invited.

Everyone will gather at 6 p.m. in Mitchell's Park on Giles Boulevard West, and the 2km walk should end around 7:30 p.m.

City of Windsor staff and police officers will guide the round-trip walk through the neighbourhood north of the park.

"Residents are invited to the community walk to learn how to prevent opportunities for crime, change the way they see and walk through their neighbourhood, and learn personal safety tips," said a release from the city.

Participants can ask questions of police officers along the way.

Those who want to go can call 311 to register because space is limited.
