Lakeshore approves financial support for 11 projects and organizations

Saying they'll benefit more than 8,000 residents and visitors, the Municipality of Lakeshore has approved financial support for 11 projects and organizations in the community.

All 11 submissions will receive grants of up to $15,000 as part of Lakeshore's Community Benefit Fund Grant program.

The beneficiaries are from across Essex County and include the Dragonboat Club of Windsor and Essex County, Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario, Tecumseh Baseball Club, Belle River Lions Club, and the Comber and District Historical Society Museum.

"As a municipality, we're dedicated to nurturing a vibrant and thriving community, and we know the important role that these organizations play in helping us achieve that goal," said Mayor Tracey Bailey.

The grants were approved during Tuesday's municipal council meeting.

Applications will open again next year, and the policy will be updated to limit grant applications to $5,000 each in future years.
