E.L.K. Energy and Entegrus invite Kingsville residents to town hall meeting

Following years of complaints, E.L.K. Energy, in partnership with Entegrus Energy, wants to open a dialogue with Kingsville residents.

The energy distributors are hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday night at Unico Hall on Beech Street from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"This meeting is an invaluable opportunity for us to connect directly with customers served by E.L.K., listen to their concerns, and share our commitment to enhancing their lives through reliable services," said Jim Hogan, the President and CEO of Entegrus.

E.L.K. Energy has suffered challenges in the past with reliability of service, a fact board chair Sherry Bondy doesn't shy away from.

"Since becoming the chair of the board, I have engaged in weekly meetings with E.L.K. staff and management," she said. "Meaningful changes will take time after two decades of underinvestment -- but we are dedicated to making steady progress."

Kingsville Deputy Mayor and E.L.K. board member Kimberly DeYong will be there too.

"I proactively sought a role on the E.L.K. board to address our hydro issues," said DeYong. "I am excited about the progress made so far and look forward to sharing the bold and decisive steps the new board has taken towards making improvements."

Last March, E.L.K. Energy entered a management services agreement with Entegrus following years of complaints from customers in Essex, Lakeshore, and Kingsville about frequent power outages.

The two companies entered the partnership after long-time CEO Mike Audet retired, and E.L.K. continues to undergo a strategic review.
