Residents and visitors to Windsor-Essex will now have a chance to look into the region's past with a new interactive guide.
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) has launched the Crossroads Historical Guide, a digital pass that explores over 50 historical points of interest in the region.
"To understand our region’s diverse and unique culture of today, we need to connect with the past to learn more about what and who shaped it," said TWEPI CEO Gordon Orr. "The Crossroads Historical Guide highlights attractions that will help tell the story of the events which sparked change and progress and the legacy left by pioneers, trailblazing innovators, collaborators, and heroic leaders, who, to this day, have inspired us and all of our communities."
The guide is not an app but a mobile pass that can be downloaded to an electronic device for easy reference while visiting historic sites. Users can check in at each attraction and earn points toward future contests and giveaways.
There are six all-encompassing categories, including agriculture and Francophone history, automotive, Black history, Indigenous, Prohibition, and the War of 1812.
Complete information about the Crossroads guide, and the list of attractions involved, can be found on TWEPI's official website.
