A vehicle that was reported stolen from a Tecumseh home on Labour Day has been recovered.
The 1980 Chevrolet Camaro was taken from a property on Intersection Road, less than 48 hours after a fire was set at a home on the same property.
The vehicle was recovered in the City of Windsor with the assistance of Windsor Police Service.
The Ontario Provincial Police believe the two incidents are connected and continue to investigate.
The fire started around 2:30 a.m. Sunday September 3, 2023. Investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set.
The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the arson along with the Essex County OPP crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services.
Investigators are asking residents who live in the area that may have video surveillance systems to check their footage to see for possible evidence related to the case. If anyone has information, they are being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
