Butterfly release to commemorate lost infants

One of the most difficult losses is that of a child, and this weekend, the Erie Shores Healthcare Spiritual Care Committee will remember the short lives of those who died during childbirth or shortly after.

This year's Butterfly Release Memorial is on Sunday at Erie Memorial Gardens cemetery.

The memorial starts at 1 p.m. at the cemetery on Erie Street South in Leamington.

Those who have lost an infant are encouraged to bring their family and friends.

"Your presence can make a significant difference in offering solace and support to those who have experienced this profound loss," said the committee in a release.

The butterfly release serves as a poignant reminder of life's delicate and fleeting nature, wrote the committee.

Attendees are encouraged to share stories, offer comfort, and come together as a community to remember and cherish those lives lost too soon.
