Four LaSalle police officers are recovering from minor injuries after they were assaulted while making an arrest on Monday.
Officers were called to a home for a "heated family dispute" around 1 p.m.
They were told a 19-year-old living at the home had uttered threats to kill another person and their pet.
According to police, when the 19-year-old was told he was being detained and could not leave the premises he resorted to punching and kicking the officers.
He was placed under arrest and officers struggled to put him in handcuffs. During the struggle he allegedly bit, head butted, and kicked the responding officers.
The 19-year-old is facing charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to an animal, four counts of assaulting a police officer, mischief, and disarming a police officer. The charges have not been proven in court.
