The long-awaited new English public elementary school in Windsor's Forest Glade neighbourhood debuts Tuesday.
Among the thousands of Windsor-Essex students heading to class after the summer break will be students attending the new Eastview Horizon Public School on Stillmeadow Road.
The new building replaces Eastwood and Parkview Public Schools. The new building was originally due to open last September but was delayed due to supply issues during construction that were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eastview Horizon is the 14th new building in the Greater Essex County District School Board since 2008.
The board currently has two schools under construction, a new K-12 school in Kingsville and a new K-8 dual-track school in Tecumseh. Both are slated for a September 2024 opening.
Students, except for kindergarteners, will start classes at the new Eastview Horizon Public at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday. Kindergarten students will begin on Monday, September 11.
