Lakeshore opens two sites to drop off downed tree branches

Lakeshore residents who have downed tree branches on their property after last week's thunderstorms have two locations to drop them off at now.

The municipality said residents can take them to the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre or Ontario Wood Fibre.

Drop off at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Wednesday to Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Ontario Wood Fibre is on County Road 42 and will offer the service from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday and then on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The municipality said smaller branches can also be put out with regular yard waste bags, although large branches, trunks, and stumps will not be collected.

Those with debris from basement flooding can put that out with their regular garbage for pickup, although restoration companies must pick up construction material and demolition waste.

All garbage must be bagged or placed in the appropriate containers.
