More than $25K of jewelry stolen during break and enter

Provincial police are searching for the suspect in a break-and-enter in Tecumseh.

Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a building on Lesperance Road at 10:22 p.m. on Saturday.

Police determined that a person went to the residence and knocked on the front door. When no one answered, the individual forced their way in by damaging the back door, police said.

Jewelry worth more than $25,000 dollars was reported stolen following the break-and-enter.

The suspect has been described as a man wearing a baseball hat and a facemask.

The investigation is still in the early stages.

The OPP is asking residents in the area to check any video security cameras between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. Saturday, for any suspicious activity.
