Windsor kicks off Peche Island boat tours

The City of Windsor has offered a chance to see its island jewel.

The Discover Peche Island boat tour begins Saturday and will run every Saturday afternoon through September 30.

The tour will give residents insight into the island's natural beauty and history. Topics such as the island's cultural history, Indigenous traditions, and natural heritage will be covered by an experienced boat captain and interpretive guide.

The excursion will also include a leisurely two-kilometre walk on the island's trail.

Participants are asked to bring a photo ID, protection from the sun and bugs, and a reusable water bottle for hydration.

Reservations are required and tickets are $30 a person. Registration is available on the City's official parks and recreation website.
