Windsor police are searching for two suspects relating to a stabbing that took place in the downtown area Monday afternoon.
According to investigators, officers responded to the assault at around noon on University Avenue East near Glengarry Avenue.
When police arrived, they located a 42-year-old man with stab wounds on his body. Paramedics attended the scene and took the man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers say the victim did not want to cooperate with police questioning however, investigators have since determined the stabbing occurred due to an altercation between a group of individuals who are known to each other.
“Five suspects were quickly identified, and four have since been arrested,” read a release from Windsor police. “A sixth male has not been identified.”
A 30-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman, a 42-year-old man, and another woman, also 42, all face charges including, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and failing to comply with a release order.
Police say a fifth suspect, 32-year-old Stephen Belcher, remains at large in connection to the probe.
The sixth suspect is described as a Black man with a full beard. During the incident, he wore a black baseball hat with a ‘B’ on it, a white sleeveless shirt, black shorts, and white running shoes.
