Misuse of candles blamed for house fire

Fire officials in Windsor blame candles for a fire that started in the bedroom of a home.

Firefighters were called to the house on Fuller Crescent in Devonshire Heights early Sunday morning.

Paramedics took one person to the hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation, and three people were displaced.

The fire caused $120,000 in damages.

Meanwhile, a fire late Thursday night on Tecumseh Road West near South Cameron Boulevard caused $100,000 in damages.

That fire is still under investigation, but fire officials say no one was hurt.
