So long as the weather holds out, the Municipality of Lakeshore will shut down Lakeshore Road 309 over Big Creek on Monday.
The bridge is less than a kilometre east of Gracey Sideroad, and the municipality expects it will inconvenience drivers until October.
"Some inconvenience to local traffic is inevitable," said Mayor Tracey Bailey. "However, we are committed to ensuring your safety and minimizing disruptions."
The work will change routes for garbage truck drivers, emergency services, and school buses.
The contractor will put up detour signs throughout the closure.
