The City of Windsor has been provided with its first payment of the 2023-2024 fiscal year for hosting Caesars Windsor.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) announced Wednesday that it has issued the City a payment of $3,397,096, for hosting the entertainment and gaming complex in the first quarter.
"Host communities support important community programs and services and strengthen their local infrastructure with these gaming revenues," said Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy. "These financial supports help fund the vital programs and services that residents can depend on for their future."
The quarterly payments are calculated using a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario, with a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site used as a guide.
Since the current casino site opened in May 1994, the City of Windsor has received $85,836,602.
