Petition to save curling at Roseland gets 2,300 signatures

Over 2,300 people signed a petition to save the curling facilities at Roseland Golf and Curling Club.

The City of Windsor is currently reviewing the future of the ageing facility.

"The option is to keep curling at Roseland, which we prefer, and that's one of our goals,  and the second one is if it isn't at Roseland, then where is it and what are the amenities," said Terry Fink, volunteer chair with the Future of Curling in Windsor-Essex Committee.

The city launched a public survey in May and held a public meeting.

"The community engagement part is so important so that the people who are playing the sport and the people who even want to come and watch curling have some input into what's going on in the city," said Fink.

A report with recommendations for the facility's future will come before Windsor City Council before the end of the year.
