Family displaced after $350K house fire

A couple and their young child are without a home after their residence went up in flames overnight.

Early Saturday morning around 2:30 a.m., Windsor Fire & Rescue responded to a house fire at 434 Grove Ave.

Fire investigators attended the scene once the blaze was fully extinguished.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but the damages are an estimated $350,000.

A witness video from the scene shows a man, woman, and young child watching from across the street as their home went up in flames. A pet dog also appeared to make it out of the home safely.

An alert bystander described the moment she realized the house was ablaze.

"I could hear snap, crackle - like a bonfire," she said. "I came around the corner, and boom. Black smoke everywhere."

It seems the same woman rang the doorbell of the home and pounded on the door repeatedly to warn the family that they were in danger.

Nobody was injured as a result of the incident, but the fire department confirmed that three people were displaced.
