Third suspect charged in violent downtown Windsor beating

Windsor police say a third suspect has been arrested in connection with a beating that put the victim in hospital.

Demarcus Parker, 18, turned himself into Windsor Police headquarters Monday morning and has now been charged with aggravated assault.

The arrest comes from a vicious beating that took place in the early morning hours of May 27. A 26-year-old man was assaulted near the intersection of Pelissier Street and University Avenue West. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Police have not provided an update on how the victim is doing.

The assault was caught on surveillance cameras.

Two 25-year-olds have already been charged in connection with the attack.

Police are still looking to identify two other suspects. The first is described as a Middle Eastern man in his early 20s, 5’10” to 6' tall, with black hair and a beard. He wore a Chicago Bulls basketball cap, a black shirt, black pants, and red running shoes.

The second suspect is described as a Black man in his early 20s, 5’10” to 6′, with short dreadlocks. He wore a black jacket, grey sweatpants with black trim on pockets, and black Jordan running shoes.

Anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts should call the Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a cash reward.
