Windsor raid results in one arrest, drugs and cash seized

Windsor police say a man has been arrested and suspected cocaine has been removed from the streets.

Members of the Emergency Services Unit and Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Unit arrested a 21-year-old man at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Howard Avenue near North Talbot Road, on suspicion of having a firearm. A search of the suspect's vehicle uncovered $6,000 in cash, and 7.6 grams of suspected cocaine.

Officers then executed a search warrant on the suspect's home, on Helsinki Crescent off Ducharme Street. Another 78.9 grams of suspected cocaine were seized, along with 52 capsules containing an unknown white powder, a digital scale, and a nylon holster. These items, estimated at $8,600, were also confiscated for a total of $14,600 in cash, drugs, and paraphernalia.

The man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. The charge has not been proven in court.
