UPDATE: Suspect arrested in sexual assault investigation

Windsor police say a suspect wanted in connection to a sexual assault investigation has surrendered.

According to police, a woman contacted them on April 4 to report that she had been sexually assaulted while staying at a Windsor women's shelter. The victim told police the suspect, who was also residing at the shelter at the time, climbed into her bed and sexually assaulted her.

"The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Desiree Anderson, who may also be known as Cody D’Entremont," police said in a statement issued Tueday.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, police tweeted that the suspect turned themselves in.

"We want to thank the public for their support and for sharing our post. Your help in spreading the word played a crucial role in bringing about a resolution," police tweeted.

The charges have not been proven in court.
