Doing some spring cleaning? The May Court Club of Windsor seeks donations

The May Court Club of Windsor is asking members of the community to bring gently used clothing and small household items to their resale shop.

"April is your month to unclutter for a cause," said a statement from the charitable organization. "Net proceeds of the sale price stay right here in our community to help children in need."

The May Court Club of Windsor is indeed devoted to addressing the needs of children and youth in the area. However, the charity also aims to help the environment. Stores such as theirs help reduce waste by recycling gently used items, which keeps fabrics, plastics, and other materials from ending up in landfills.

The May Court Club of Windsor shared a statistic that claims Ontario created over 10 million tonnes of waste for disposal in 2018.

"Reduce, reuse, recycle, and repurpose with The May Court Club of Windsor and get your spring cleaning done," spokespersons from The May Court Club urged.

As a way of celebrating kindness, all donors will have their name scribed on a paper flower which will then be added to a colorful window display.

The volunteer-run resale shop is located at 1122 Wyandotte St. E. Donations receiving is open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The shop is closed on Sunday and Monday.

More information is available on the shop's website.

This is project is run in partnership with the Rotary Club of Windsor-Walkerville, according to the May Court Club of Windsor.
