Police seek Windsor suspect in grandparent scam

Windsor Police have identified a suspect after a scam targeted an Amherstburg resident, but they need help finding the woman.

Police at the Amherstburg detachment started investigating after the victim got a call from someone claiming to be a police officer, demanding $10,000 to release their grandson from custody.

The suspect provided instructions and said a court clerk would come by to pick up the money.

With the help of the Ontario Provincial Police, investigators identified the suspect as 25-year-old Amaryss Hall Todd.

Police want Hall Todd for fraud over $5,000.
