The private members bill for the creation of the Ojibway National Urban Park is up for another debate next week.
Windsor West MP Brian Masse's bill will be debated for one hour next Friday, February 3 for third-reading. Once debated, the House of Commons could vote on the issue as early as February 8.
Masse is fairly confident the bill will pass the third-reading stage.
"We have support from the Conservatives, we have support from the Green, we have support from the Bloc, and tried to get the Liberals on board," said Masse.
The Liberal Party has announced its support for the project but does not support Masse's Private Member's Bill.
If the bill passes the third-reading it then moves to the Senate process for approval.
"Usually what the Senate does is it looks to improve legislation, very rarely does it block legislation and we're already working on that process. They could actually enhance the bill if there is an opportunity," said Masse.
