Saying the current location is not ideal, the City of Windsor has begun the search for a new home for its Homelessness and Housing Help Hub.
It's seeking submissions from interested parties who own property that might be suitable.
The City has a list of criteria, including a site within walking distance of emergency shelters, close to residential areas, but schools and not in a commercial district.
It would prefer a site that comprises an entire block and needs at least 80,000 sq. ft.
It will even consider vacant land, regardless of zoning, to build the new location.
Interested parties must submit a sealed Expression of Interest to the City's purchasing supervisor or an electronic submission before February 15. Faxed submissions will not be accepted.
Currently, the hub is located at the former Windsor Water World on Wyandotte Street East near McDougall Street.
