OLG pays out over $2-million to City of Windsor

Hosting a casino the size of Caesars Windsor continues to pay off for the City of Windsor.

Since 1994, the city has received more than $80-million for hosting the casino.

It received another cheque from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. This time, for $2,085,083 for the third quarter of 2022.

The city's payments from the OLG have totalled more than $7.3-million in the past year.

The OLG applies the payments based on a formula applied evenly across all gaming sites. The city's cheque is calculated using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at Caesars Windsor.

The money funds municipal programs and infrastructure projects.

The Crown Agency has paid out $1.93-billion in quarterly payments to host communities since 1994.
