Second man arrested in attempted murder case

Windsor police say a second suspect has been arrested following the attempted murder of a woman over New Year's weekend.

The second suspect is a 48-year-old man who was arrested in Brampton on Tuesday. He was transported to Windsor and charged with one count of attempted murder, four counts of conspiracy to commit murder, and one count of extortion.

Last week, a 36-year-old man was arrested in the January 2 incident. He is being held on charges of attempted murder, pointing a firearm, and administering a noxious substance​ with the intent to endanger life. Since being arrested, one count of conspiracy to commit murder was added.

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries in what police believe is a targeted attack. The victim is recovering from her injuries.
